Dear Somchai
We hope that you and everyone at the beautiful Thai Wisdom Centre are well. We have finally found time to send you a reflection on our visit to the centre and the Tiger Temple – we had a lot to say so I have attached it to this email. We are also sending you some photos but there are quite a few so will send them separately by mail on a disc in a few days. You might like the photos of you and Cheryl and the Tiger Boys operating on the wild horse that was gored by the water buffalo. This has made a great travel story. Please let us know if these do not arrive. We just want to say how much we enjoyed our 2 days with you. You inspired us with your compassion and humanity and we have told many of our friends about our amazing experiences. I am sure that we will one day return and maybe contribute to the work that you are doing to support the local community.
We would also be interested in providing some financial or other support to the nuns who have the orphanage you told us about. Do you have any information about how we could do this?

The Thai Wisdom Centre is a peaceful comfortable eco friendly sanctuary away from the constant bustle of Bangkok. During our stay we ate delicious fresh meals prepared by local women and served in the cool and shady garden, sampled many different tropical fruits and sweets and drank organic herbal teas and juices.

Somchai has created a very special experience for his guests and at the same time is providing business opportunities for local people through the development of eco business.

As we drove back into Bangkok late that night, we felt we had been a million miles away from the life of the city. We felt sad to say goodbye to the Thai Wisdom Centre and the tigers, but most of all Somchai who shared with us his jokes, wisdom and dreams.

I hope this mail finds you in the best of health and spirits, just as it leaves all of us. The last week was probably the singular unequivocal period in all of our lives and we have you to thank for it. This trip was probably the most spiritual experience I have ever had. It has made me and Anu think about planning another trip for the week long meditation course which you were mentioning.
 
Not a single hour goes by without "Yai Sirra", my father, mentioning your name. You have touched all of us with your kindness, vision, simplicity and quiet dignity. Frederich Nietzche, the german philosopher, once said that we make our experiences less memorable the moment we find words to describe them. This is an experience that is beyond words for us at the moment and is likely to be so, for a long time.
 
Your staff at the Thai wisdom center have made a deep impression on all of us. Please convey our regards to all of them.
